PolyNetwork became the latest victim of hackers, with a record amount of over $600 million stolen.
The PolyNetwork interoperability protocol lost this value in Binance Smart Chain, Polygon and Ethereum. The perpetrators set a record in the decentralized financial space by stealing more than $600 million from at least three wallet addresses.
At the beginning of August 10th, PolyNetwork announced in your twitter account had experienced a security breach.
The team behind the project indicated that assets stored in Binance Smart Chain, Ethereum and Polygon were moved to other addresses belonging to the hackers.
The ETH address, which was previously reported to be involved in the hack, currently contains 2,858 ETH tokens worth $266.5 million.
The Binance Smart Chain wallet has over 6,610 BNB tokens. The value in US dollars represents just over $252 million.
Finally, Polygon’s address shows $85 million. Ultimately, the total amount stolen exceeds $600 million at the time of writing.
PolyNetwork also asked the cryptocurrency exchanges to blacklist all tokens coming from these addresses.
In addition, the team promised to “take legal action” and asked the hackers to return the stolen funds.
