We do not know if the two issues are related to each other, but yesterday on the government website gov.pl stated that “Officers of the Silesian National Revenue Administration (KAS) and the Internal Inspection Office of the Ministry of Finance and policemen from the Provincial Police Headquarters in Katowice defeated 2 organized crime groups that dealt with illegal gambling in Silesia.

The services started cooperation in connection with information about the activities of 2 criminal groups that organized illegal gambling games. There was a suspicion that officers of the Customs and Tax Service were involved in the illegal practice. On June 15, 2021, several hundred policemen and officers from the Ministry of Finance and KAS from Silesia, Małopolska and Mazovia entered the apartments of members of criminal groups and premises where illegal gaming machines were located. At the same time, the officers conducted activities in Częstochowa, Dąbrowa Górnicza, Lubliniec, Będzin, Zawiercie, Myszków and in the area of Częstochowa, Kłobuck and Będzin
