IOHK founder and CEO Charles Hoskinson revealed that around 100 companies could move from the Ethereum network to Cardano. He admitted this in a recent interview with Bloomberg. He added that Ethereum-based projects are like toys for children.
Charles Hoskinson: 100 companies prefer us to Ethereum
It turns out that among the companies that Cardano can choose, there are really well-known brands. This includes SingularityNET, the company dealing with artificial intelligence and behind the production of the humanoid robot Sophia. Apparently “She seriously discussed” about migration to the Cardano network. It would be a great image success.
The Cardano network, however, is sometimes criticized. Some people think it’s vaporware, i.e. software that’s not yet finished. Nic Carter from Coin Metrics even points out that today there is no known application associated with this blockchain.
– I don’t know a single popular app deployed on Cardano, nor have I seen any enthusiasm for this platform among developers – He said.
Ethereum-based projects are like toys for children?
Undeterred by the attacks, Hoskinson believes his blockchain is infinitely more efficient than the Ethereum network. It also ignores the undoubted successes of Vitalik Buterin’s project.
– I don’t care [takie projekty jak] Uniswap, CryptoKitties, and stuff like that. They’re bubbles that come and go, like Pet Rocks and Beanie Babies – He said.
Pet Rocks and Beanie Babies are popular toys for children. Pet Rock was founded in 1975. They were sold like live animals, in custom cardboard boxes, fitted with a straw and breathing holes. Today, however, they are only considered collectable gadgets.
Beanie Babies, on the other hand, is a line of plush toys created by the American businessman H. Ty Warner, which was popular in the 1980s.
The above words can be considered unnecessary malice. It is worth adding, however, that although Cardano is still far from becoming the main tool for governments or large companies, 33-year-old Hoskinson has already achieved celebrity status. He even claims to be recognized at airports and receives numerous fan emails.
As for Ethereum, the network can show its potential when Ethereum 2.0, a new version of the platform, is implemented.
