And the sorry dog returns…
Tesla CEO Elon Musk now has a new profile picture on his Twitter account – a Japanese anime girl in a dress with the Bitcoin logo.
Is he trying to impact the market again?
Musk brings back your old Bitcoin profile picture
Earlier this year, Musk already brought that avatar back – on February 19, saying it was “just for a day”. This girl also has “laser eyes” now.
The billionaire did this shortly after Tesla announced its massive $1.5 billion purchase of BTC and then spread the word about starting to accept Bitcoin as payment for Tesla’s cars.
At that time, Musk tagged Bitcoin in his “bio” section of Twitter, thus pushing the price of the flagship cryptocurrency from the $32,000 level to over $37,000.
In 2018, the same profile photo temporarily blocked Elon Musk’s Twitter account.

Bitcoiners fight with Elon
Recently, however, Elon has gotten into trouble with the Bitcoin community and influencers after tweeting that Tesla has suspended Bitcoin payments for reasons related to the controversial carbon footprint issues of Bitcoin mining.
Some in the community, like Bitcoin influencer Anthony Pompliano, believe Musk is preparing to launch a Bitcoin green mining business in the near future and, so far, is just pulling the focus to the community issue.
He appears to have only pushed environmental concerns over Bitcoin to the boiling point, as governments have started the same narrative about the need to reduce global and local CO2 emissions as the EU and China.
The latter is now restricting Bitcoin mining and other energy-hungry projects, causing cryptocurrencies to move to friendlier jurisdictions with cheaper energy.
Iran has also suspended Bitcoin mining for the summer season after massive power cuts in the country.
