The National Tax Administration (KAS) published an interesting yesterday statement regarding the operation of a place with illegal gambling and … a bitomat.
KAS hits illegal gambling
“On July 1, 2020 in Włodawa, officers of the Customs and Tax Control Department of the Market Square in Biała Podlaska together with officers of the Bug River Border Guard Department carried out activities aimed at combating illegal gambling”
– we read in the preliminary.
Further we learn that officers “As a result of operations carried out, in a place offering cryptocurrency for sale, in addition to the BITCOIN ATM for deposits and withdrawals of cash (…) revealed two computer stations for illegal gambling. This was confirmed by a trial experiment. “
What was illegal gambling about?
– The process of playing games was possible after paying cash to the BITCOIN ATM. In return, the player received a voucher with a code, which he then scanned with a computer camera and thus gained access to gambling. Winnings were withdrawn from the BITCOIN ATM – explains KAS.
“In the Lubelskie Voivodship, these were the first activities carried out on this type of equipment enabling gambling under the guise of buying cryptocurrency”
– added in the message.

Like gambling, it’s not in Poland
We would like to remind you that in accordance with the amendment to the gambling act of April 1, 2017, gambling that is organized in the network is prohibited in our country. However, which may be controversial, only one e-casino can operate in Poland, but it is controlled by the state. It is about Total Casinothat belongs to Totalizator Sportowy. On the website of this platform you can see that it offers digital slot machines, roulette, card games, jackpots and games from the series ‘Gods’ and ‘Heroes’.
Pursuant to the law three years ago, persons who take part in foreign gambling games without a license from the Ministry of Finance, are criminally liable.
KAS probably was about illegal gambling. On this occasion, however, it is also worth recalling a rather funny incident about bitomats from nearly a year ago. Sławomir Mentzen, a lawyer and politician of the Confederation, wrote more about the matter on his Facebook account:
