Charles Hoskinson says that Cardano (ADA) is about to steal part of the users of the Ethereum (ETH) network – with claims that “more than 100 companies” are changing sides.
However, speaking to Bloomberg, he gave no further details.
Meanwhile, Nic Carter, the co-founder of Coin Metrics and a partner at the venture capital firm Castle Island Ventures, seemed cautious about the allegations, talking to the same media:
“I am not aware of a single popular application deployed at Cardano, nor did I see any enthusiasm for the platform among the developers. I’m really baffled as to why you’re enjoying a resurgence in popularity. “
In July 2020, Hoskinson predicted that, in one year, “there would be hundreds of assets running at Cardano, thousands of dapps [aplicativos descentralizados], tons of interesting projects and many exclusive uses and uses ”.
Hoskinson, a former enthusiast and co-founder of the blockchain protocol Ethereum, left the project after what the media labeled a “board fight” in 2014, later configuring Cardano as a rival protocol.
And Hoskinson, with a touch of bluster, told Bloomberg that Cardano’s blockchain security and governance protocols are “superior to Ethereum”.
“My goal is to manage countries in this network. I don’t care about Uniswap and CryptoKitties and stuff. It’s a bubble that comes and goes, like Pet Rocks and Beanie Babies. You can take your DeFi and run it on my system for 1/100 to 1/1000 of the cost. “
The network’s ADA token has enjoyed a meteoric rise this year, currently ranking sixth among the top 10 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization.
At the time of writing (09:37 UTC), the ADA was trading at $ 1 and fell 8% in a day and 12% in a week, reducing its monthly earnings to less than 9%. The price soared by 3,755% in one year.
The Cardano chief added that he “does not know why” Cardano’s value is on the rise this year and added that the smart contract functionality should be launched “this year”.
Ethereum developer Ryan Berckmans earlier this month told Cryptonews.com that the ADA hype could simply be the result of members of the crypto community thinking that Ethereum “doesn’t scale” and speculating that “Cardano may be the answer” .
Hoskinson’s cause was supported by some public people, like veteran rock star Gene Simmons from Kiss, who spoke of open and passionate way about the token last month.
