Influencers have permeated nearly every facet of the culture and have proven to be extremely successful at what they do. The emerging and ever-expanding market for cryptocurrency is one such area.
Many of the major cryptocurrencies have been, and continue to be, advertised by influencers. Changpeng Zhao, aka CZ, is the CEO of the world’s largest crypto exchange, Binance. With over 4.5 million followers, CZ is considered one of the top influencers of cryptocurrencies.
Smaller coins have had big advantages thanks to social media, and meme coins are so popular for that very reason. Perhaps the best example is Elon Musk and Dogecoin (DOGE). Every time Musk tweets, the price of DOGE increases considerably.
In December 2021, it increased 20% after Musk said it would accept DOGE as payment for Tesla’s goods. Newcomer HUH Token seems to follow in DOGE’s footsteps and use influencers to capitalize on its meme popularity, as a springboard to show the token’s usefulness.
Melania Trump and Bitcoin
Bitcoin will celebrate its 13th anniversary in 2022. Before the anniversary, Melania Trump tweeted her congratulations to Satoshi Nakamoto, the pseudonym of the name used by the creator or creators of Bitcoin. In the hours following her tweet, the price of BTC rose by more than $500. Next to a photo of the genesis block, the first block of the Bitcoin blockchain, the former first lady wrote:
“It is widely reported that Bitcoin’s market capitalization exceeds $1 trillion. Today marks the 13th anniversary of the Bitcoin Genesis Block. Happy birthday, #SatoshiNakamoto #MelaniaNFT.”
From wearing an imperialist outfit reminiscent of colonial oppressors during a trip to Kenya, to wearing the now infamous jacket, “I REALLY DON’T CARE DO U?“, during a visit to see children detained at the US border, Melania Trump is a controversial figure.
She also publicly rebuffed her husband Donald Trump’s attempts at affection, who had previously spoken out against the cryptocurrency, calling it “a scam against the dollar“, and this latest endorsement of the cryptocurrency could be perceived as another criticism of the former president of the United States.
This is not an isolated incident. Melania Trump released her first NFT in mid-December 2021, called Melania’s Vision. NFTs are becoming more and more popular, with BTS and Justin Bieber entering the world of digital collectibles. Extremely influential people are using your platform to get involved and raise awareness of blockchain technology.
HUH Token (HUH) and Influencers
The HUH token may only have been released in December 2021, but it already has a sizable community behind it, as well as extremely ambitious plans for the future. The HUH roadmap includes an NFT marketplace and an app launch in its third stage.
It will be released on Uniswap on January 6, 2022, the fourth largest cryptocurrency platform. This list will complete the first stage of your screenplay.
On January 19th, HUH will enlist the help of hundreds of influencers to raise awareness of the token’s qualities. This should get more people involved, which would be beneficial to new and existing incumbents.
As the first coin “utimeme” of the world, HUH has a unique appeal. It also has a unique referral system, which provides existing holders with 10% of the first investment of anyone they recommend HUH to. There is also a contest running on the Instagram page. $60,000 is in the prize pool, with 60 randomly selected people earning $1k each.
Social media and influencers can make or break a product or service. This, of course, depends a lot on the viability and credibility of what they are advertising. Endorsed by hundreds of influencers with millions of followers, the HUH Token was able to see similar price increases to DOGE following a tweet by Elon Musk.
